Biography
Mark Atta Mensah is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Ghana and a Faculty Researcher at DRAKA Labs. His research focuses on human-centred computing, user modelling and adaptive technologies, with particular interest in the design and evaluation of intelligent and immersive systems for preventive healthcare and behaviour change.
His broader research spans persuasive technology, human-centred artificial intelligence, natural language processing, automatic speech recognition, virtual reality and low-resource language technologies. A central theme of his work is understanding how intelligent digital systems can become more adaptive, culturally responsive, accessible and appropriate for the individuals and communities they are intended to serve.
His research has also contributed to areas including digital health, Akan language technologies, climate information access, ethical interface design and AI-supported education. Within DRAKA Labs, Mark contributes expertise at the intersection of people, artificial intelligence and digital systems, supporting research into technologies that respond intelligently and responsibly to human needs, contexts and behaviours.
