DRAKA Labs is the Digital Systems Research, Innovation & Applied Computing Laboratory of the Department of Computer Science, University of Ghana. This notice explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and how it is handled.

We collect only the information needed for the purpose you are engaging us for, and we handle it in line with applicable University of Ghana policies and data protection requirements.

We collect information you provide directly through our forms. Depending on the form, this may include your name, email address, telephone number, organisation, role, research interests, academic and professional details, and any documents you choose to upload such as a CV or a research proposal.

The member onboarding form may also collect additional profile, engagement, and, where an engagement involves payment, administrative and banking details. Administrative and banking information is treated as confidential, stored with restricted access, and is never displayed on the public website.

We also collect limited technical information automatically, such as basic request and device data, to keep the site secure and working correctly.

We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, review applications for research funding and membership, coordinate research and collaboration, publish approved profiles where you have consented, and carry out the related administration.

Where you submit a member onboarding application, nothing is published until it has been reviewed and approved, and a public profile is created only with your consent.

The site offers a search feature that can generate short answers from the Laboratory's own published content. Your search text is sent to our search service to produce suggestions and answers. The assistant only draws on published information about the Laboratory and never returns personal contact details.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with authorised University of Ghana units where this is required for approved administrative, research, contractual, or financial processes.

We use trusted service providers to operate the website and its features, for example hosting, file storage for uploaded documents, and the search service. These providers process information only as needed to provide their service.

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, and for any period required by University policy or applicable law, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you may withdraw consent to publish your profile at any time. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
